        At present, the wastewater discharge and COD discharge of China’s papermaking industry rank first in the discharge of all kinds of industries in China. The pollution of papermaking industry to water environment is relatively serious. It is not only the primary problem of pollution prevention and control of China’s papermaking industry, but also the primary problem of national industrial wastewater treatment up to standard. Pulping and papermaking wastewater refers to the cooking wastewater (also known as black liquor and red liquor) produced by chemical pulping, the middle water produced in the process of pulp washing and bleaching and the white water produced in the process of paper making, which have serious environmental pollution. The waste liquor of cooking section is the black liquor produced by alkali pulping and the red liquor produced by acid pulping. The effluent from the middle stage of pulping refers to the effluent from the process of selection, washing and bleaching of the pulping pulp after the extraction of black liquor. The color of the effluent is dark yellow. Among them, the chlorine containing wastewater produced in the bleaching process is the most serious environmental pollution. In addition, the toxic carcinogen dioxin is contained in the effluent, which poses a serious threat to the ecological environment and human health.
