      With the development of modern industry, mineral resources are increasingly exhausted, and the mined ores are facing the situation of “poor, fine and miscellaneous”. Nowadays, in addition to the high requirements for energy conservation and environmental protection, enterprises have put forward higher and broader requirements for solid-liquid separation technology and equipment. In view of the social needs of mineral processing, metallurgy, petroleum, coal, chemical industry, food, environmental protection and other industries, the application of solid-liquid separation technology and equipment has been promoted, and the breadth and depth of its application fields are still expanding.

      The reason why the filter press can develop vigorously and is widely used in various industries, its greater advantage is that the pressure difference between the positive pressure and high-pressure pressure dehydration is much larger than that of the traditional vacuum filter, so the water content of the filter cake is low, the energy consumption is less, the metal loss is less, and the filtrate is clear and transparent. As early as more than ten years ago, some experts pointed out that the pressure filter is the only excellent equipment which can ensure that the water content of filter cake reaches below 10% and can not add flocculant.

       Filter press can be divided into box type and plate frame type in terms of filter plate form; vertical and horizontal filter plate can be placed in different positions; there are plastic, rubber, cast iron, cast steel, carbon steel and stainless steel in terms of material of filter plate; there are extrusion dehydration and non extrusion dehydration in terms of whether the filter plate is equipped with rubber extrusion membrane; there are single-sided dehydration and double dehydration according to the number of filter cloth surfaces equipped with filter plate Flour dehydration and so on. However, no matter what kind of filter press, its working principle is first positive pressure dehydration, also known as pulp dewatering, that is, a certain number of filter plates are closely arranged in a row under the action of strong mechanical force, and a filter chamber is formed between the filter plate surface and the filter plate surface, and the filtering material is sent into the filter chamber under strong positive pressure, and the solid part of the filtering material entering the filter chamber is intercepted by the filtering medium (such as filter cloth) to form filtration With the increase of positive pressure, the solid-liquid separation is more thorough. However, considering the energy and cost, too high positive pressure is not cost-effective. After the slurry is dehydrated, the pressure filter equipped with rubber extrusion membrane will enter the back of the extrusion membrane and push the squeeze membrane to further dehydrate the extruded filter cake, which is called extrusion dehydration. After dewatering by slurry feeding or extrusion, compressed air enters the filter chamber, and one side of the filter cake passes through the filter cake, carrying liquid water from the other side of the filter cake to discharge into the filter chamber through the filter cloth, which is called air blowing dehydration. If both sides of the filter chamber are covered with filter cloth, the liquid part can be discharged from the filter chamber through the filter cloth on both sides of the filter chamber, which is double-sided dehydration of the filter chamber. After dewatering, the mechanical pressure of the filter plate is released, and the single filter plate is gradually opened, and the filter chamber is opened for cake unloading, which is a main working cycle. According to the different properties of the filter materials, the filter press can be equipped with slurry feeding dehydration, extrusion dehydration, air blowing dehydration or single or double-sided dehydration, so as to reduce the moisture content of filter cake to a great extent.
