In the feeding stage, the slurry concentration is high, and the solid particle content is high. Compared with the lower slurry concentration, the filter cake formation speed is accelerated. When the feed concentration is low, it is easy for fine particles to directly enter the holes of the filter cloth, pass through, block or cover them, causing the holes of the filter medium to be blocked quickly.
As the slurry concentration increases, more particles will approach or reach the pores of the filter medium. Due to mutual interference, most of the particles cannot enter the pores and form an arch bridge on it, so that the filter pores can be longer. It will not be seriously blocked within time. During the filter press process, the average particle size of the filter cake formed on the surface of the filter medium gradually increases from the outside to the inside along the feeding direction, and the resistance of the filter cake gradually decreases, which affects the dehydration inside the filter cake (close to the filter cloth side). This effect gradually increases with the decrease of the feed concentration. Therefore, the lower the feed concentration, the higher the moisture content of the filter cake. It can be seen that the slurry concentration has a significant effect on the moisture content of the filter cake.
