There are several commonly used sludge filtration and dewatering methods.

(1) natural dehydration

Including drying bed type and sand filter bed type.

Dry bed type is the use of solar heat and wind action of natural evaporation dehydration, suitable for water supply sludge, sewage sludge, etc.

Sand filter bed type is to rely on sand filter dehydration and the use of solar energy and wind for natural evaporation dehydration, suitable for water supply sludge, drainage sludge, decolorization wastewater, hair washing wastewater, electroplating wastewater treatment of sludge.

(2) screening dehydration

Including the coagulation method and granulation method.

The coagulation method is to sift and dehydrate the flocculate formed by adding coagulant.

The granulation method is to sift and dehydrate the mud particles formed by adding coagulant, which is suitable for the treatment of quarrying wastewater and industrial wastewater.

(3) vacuum filtration dehydration

Includes intermittent filtration and continuous filtration.

Interval filtration is to use vacuum pump and other machinery to generate filtration pressure, intermittent alternate generation of filter cake, dehydration and cake peeling and other processes, suitable for a small amount of sludge treatment.

Continuous filtration is to use vacuum pump and other machinery to make the filter material installed in the rotating body on both sides of the filtration pressure difference, continuous repeated generation of filter cake, dehydration and cake peeling and other processes, widely applicable to a large amount of sludge treatment, there are a number of filters for the continuous treatment of difficult to filter sludge.

(4) pressure filtration dehydration

Also includes batch and continuous filtration.

Interval filtration is a pump or compressor intermittent pressure filtration, dehydration, cake peeling and other processes, widely used in sludge dewatering treatment.

Continuous filtration includes three forms: (1) with a pump or compressor installed in the rotating body of the filter material on both sides of the filter pressure difference, continuous repeated pressure filtration, dehydration, filter cake peeling and other processes;

(2) between the filter belt to provide filter materials for pressing and dehydration;

(5) Centrifugal dehydration

Including centrifugal sedimentation and centrifugal filtration.

Centrifugal sedimentation is to concentrate and dehydrate the sludge by using the centrifugal effect and sedimentation in the high-speed rotating body. The particle removal rate is generally low, so coagulant must be added.

Centrifugal filtration is to rely on the filter material set in the inner wall of the high-speed rotating body and centrifugal dehydration filtration, usually need to add coagulant.

(6) Other dehydration methods

These technologies include coagulation floatation, freezing dehydration, capillary dehydration and electroosmosis dehydration, etc., which are all new technologies developed in recent years. There are still many research topics and equipment problems to be solved when they are used in practice.
