Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the concentration flotation process

      The advantages of the concentration flotation process can be summarized as the following points:
⑴ Improve the stability of floating materials. Due to the use of concentration equipment, the concentration of the flotation feed can be effectively controlled, and the stability of the feed concentration into the flotation machine is conducive to the stable progress of subsequent operations.

⑵ It has a strong buffering capacity. If the amount of continuous coal slurry increases or the amount of water increases, because of the large-capacity thickening tank and other equipment, it can reduce the input volume to a certain extent on the subsequent operations, such as the flotation feed concentration, and the system has strong anti-interference ability.
⑶Increase the floating concentration and save the amount of flotation reagent. Concentrated underflow to flotation, the amount of flotation agent (trapping agent and foaming agent) is inversely proportional to the feed concentration to a certain extent. If the flotation concentration is too low, the amount of flotation reagent must be increased, which will increase the cost of flotation. Therefore, concentration flotation increases the flotation concentration and saves the amount of reagent.

The shortcomings of concentration flotation are obvious, which is also a problem that needs to be paid attention to and solved in actual production. If the shortcomings of the concentration flotation process are not fully understood, only the advantages are seen, which often causes practical problems in production. The disadvantages of the concentration flotation process are mainly manifested in the following aspects:
In the thickening flotation process, all the slime water enters the thickening equipment and settles in the gravity field. Some fine-grained and very fine materials are difficult to settle. 2 It takes a long time to settle and cannot enter the sedimentation part. The slime circulates repeatedly in the system. Gradually accumulate and increase the load of the enrichment equipment. Also, because the particles are repeatedly pumped in the circulation, they are continuously crushed and slushed, and the particle size is finer, resulting in secondary slime, which increases the amount of slime in the overflow and cannot be discharged from the system, resulting in an endless loop of slime.
⑵The amount of water is not easy to balance
According to the principle of balance, adding fresh water to the coal washing plant should be equivalent to removing water from the product, and there should be no other additional water. However, in concentrated flotation, the fine mud cannot be removed from the system, and the amount of slime accumulated in the circulating water cycle is increasing, which increases the concentration of washing water and seriously affects the effect of jigging coal preparation. In order to reduce the concentration of washing water and keep it at a reasonable level, it is inevitable to discharge high-concentration slime water regularly or irregularly. On the one hand, it causes the loss of slime, and on the other hand, the washing water cannot be fully reused, increasing the system. The added amount of clean water caused an imbalance.
