Pretreatment of belt filter press before dehydration
Sludge pretreatment, also known as sludge conditioning or conditioning (sludge concentration), should generally be carried out before dewatering with belt sludge dehydrator.
This is mainly because the sludge produced by sewage treatment plants, especially activated sludge dehydration performance is generally poor, direct dehydration will require a large number of dehydration equipment, so it is not economic.
The so-called sludge conditioning, is to improve the sludge pretreatment, dewatering performance, improve the production capacity of dewatering equipment, to obtain comprehensive technical and economic results.
There are two kinds of sludge conditioning and conditioning methods: physical conditioning and chemical conditioning.
Physical conditioning includes washing method, freezing method and heat conditioning method, while chemical conditioning mainly refers to adding chemical agents to sludge to improve its dewatering performance.
The above methods have been used in practice, but the main reason is that the chemical conditioning and conditioning process is simple, easy to operate, and the conditioning and conditioning effect is relatively stable.
