      The belt filter press is a biological solid/sludge dewatering equipment for all kinds of sludge and slurry which is sandwiched between two tight belts for dewatering and under the mechanical pressure through the serpentine rollers of decreasing diameter. This machine can actually be divided into three zones: a gravity zone, where free drainage is discharged by gravity through a porous belt; a wedge zone, where the solid pressure is applied and prepared; and a pressure zone, where the medium is then applied with high pressure solid. Typically, a belt filter press receives a slurry of feed solids from 1-4% and produces a relatively final product of 12-35% oil cake solids. The performance depends on the nature of the solid being processed.
